    mine (cfbbs.net) i got at least as early as 2000, but unfortunately lost it briefly in 2011

    i suppose it may have been earlier (the first entry in the wayback machine was in 2000, which is before they even launched the service publicly) but not earlier than 1998 when Lev registered darktech.org and started giving us dynamic dns

    it's pretty likely i got it in 1999 when he launched dtdns.net after that whole thing sort of spiraled out of control

    but it doesn't really matter because having lost it briefly is lame-o ;)

    Looks like 2001. That was probably when .com domains became affordable. I used something like dyndns before that.

    That said, I registered my first domain in 1997 or 1998 for a non-profit.

    Oh yeah, that's what I used. darktech.org.

    I used that for hosting my counter-strike clan's website for years. :D
